Angelic Art - Alternative & Spiritual Healing Therapy

As more and more alternative and spiritual healings are being studied and documented they are
finding that all forms of upliftment heals the body, mind and spirit. Angelic art falls within this
category by uplifting the spirit. I do not claim Angel paintings create physical healings. Angel
paintings soothe the emotions and create a more peaceful atmosphere helping today's society
deal with the stressful world we now find ourselves in on a day to day basis.

Angel paintings are unique. They are a form of healing art. Angelic art uplifts, motivates, comforts,
soothes and inspires. Each painting holds it's own inspirational energy and you do not have to be
a " Believer" for this to work. These paintings work on a deep emotional level, clearing, releasing
and comforting the emotions and melting the stress of the day away. Inspiring within each individual
that gazes upon them their own God like image and this is how the healing takes place. A place of
beauty and perfection is remembered by the Soul." Divine energy is at work assisting alternative and
spiritual healing through Angel therapy in the form of fine art.

My Angel paintings for example are personal, whether it be in one of my collection series or for a
specific individual or relationship or group. Upon completion of each painting, I know that it is indeed
meant for someone and their heart and soul will instantly know and respond to the Angel and the
energy before them in the painting. My Angel art is a gift, given to and through my talent by Divine
Angels guidance instructed to them by a much Higher Source. The Angels oversee and instruct every
brushstroke and detail of paint color and every brushstroke within each painting ... they truly know "Who"

some pretty amazing emotional releasements, and reactions when people have gazed upon them and truly
responded with their soul !

Each day, more and more documented proof is coming through from the medical fields proving that Art
and Music are truly a recognized healing tool to be used by everyone. Whether it be in participation,
gazing upon or listening ... Art heals. This has always been known in the Alternative and Holistic
medicines, but now is being used more and more in the traditional medicines opening up a whole new train
of thought causing many, many positive results benefiting all. I look forward to it becoming an everyday
occurrence ... just as a standard prescription is used.

practical methods that help you work with your Angels in healing your relationship, family and body issues."
Angel or Angelic art is an extension of this therapy.

Indigo and Crystal Children and the elderly respond to the Angel Paintings with a knowingness of love
and illumination that comes from within them. Sometimes the reactions have been as though they are
recognizing an old friend.

I am a level 2 Reiki Practioner and I incorporate this energy into my paintings. Reiki is Japanese for
Universal life - force or Spirtually -Guided Energy. Rei, Univeral all-energy compassing and all - knowing,
and Ki, life - force energy, the same as Chi in Chinese. This is the energy that binds all living things together
in unlimited amounts. With the guidance and wisdom of the Universe, this is the most powerful form of
energy healing.

I find the Angels like working with this gentle ever flowing energy and some Reiki practioners that do hands on Reiki healing treatments actually see the Angels working with them in their treatment sessions.

Angels are so much more than we realize. I have found them to be a great source of information. They have
a wonderful sense of humor and are always there when I need them consciously or unconsciously.I can almost
hear the chuckling in the background as I sit here writing. I am an Angel artist not a writer, but as usual it
seems the Angels have a different agenda so I might as well go along with it. They have gotten me out of my
comfort zone more than once. They are my pep rally, they are my comfort through everything and my mentors
and they never steer me away from my chosen path ... my destiny, I am sure of it.

The Angels just expand it and broaden it more than I could ever imagine when I started this quest
so many years ago of helping and uplifting humanity with the love and the message of such definite
light there can be no mistaking where the source of this energy comes from... The Divine.

I only hope that people respond with their hearts in today's times as there is so much love and
compassion and healing just waiting for all. Let down the barriers and just accept the love that is so freely given
and the help, healing and assistance that is just there for the asking. Every moment of everyday we are not alone,
we don't have to carry the burden that was never ours to carry. Release the pain, release the baggage
that you carry to the Angels... just think it and it is done. It is that simple. The healing begins.

Mindfulness - The Power to Change

One of the first steps in positive change is self-awareness, or mindfulness. First of all, we need to be aware of what we really want and what gets in the way of achieving it. Very often the barriers to change are internal, or emotional. The more aware we become of our internal, or emotional state, the better prepared we are to make positive choices for change.

For instance, if we want to change a communication pattern with another person, such as expressing anger or impatience, we need to be aware of when this pattern happens. What is a typical situation? What are you thinking? What are you feeling? What sensations arise in your body? Beginning to notice these things, without judgment, is the first step of change. Reflecting on past situations will help develop awareness for different behavior in the future. Then, developing moment-by-moment self-awareness when with that person would be essential.

You can practice this moment-by-moment self-awareness by doing the following exercise often throughout the day:

Mini-Mindfulness Meditation Exercise:

Take a few deep breaths and become aware of your body. Feel the sensations of the chair pressing against your body, your feet on the floor. Notice your shoulders, chest, and stomach - just observing how you are in this moment - any sensations of tightness or tension. You can do this with your eyes open or shut.

If you practice this little exercise often during the day when you are relaxed, it will become second nature to you to check in with yourself often. Then, you will be more likely to do it in more difficult situations, such as when you are triggered to react.

If you notice your body tensing, your heart beating fast, your mouth getting ready to speak, you can just take a few breaths and take time to respond in a different way. This gives you the freedom and power of choice, rather than acting out of an old habit.

Exercise of practicing mindfulness: Here is another variation of the exercise. Sit in chair for few minutes. Close eyes. Notice your body sensations on the chair, both feet on the floor. Become aware of breath. In and out. Notice sensation of breath. Breathe in and out to count of 4 each way. Breathe in and out for a few minutes.

Anytime your mind wanders off, bring it back to your breath.

You don't have to totally clear your mind. Just allow the thoughts to come and let them go. As though your mind is a stream, and your thoughts are leaves on the water. Just let them go by.

Notice where your mind wants to go. Do not judge yourself, just observe.

Open your eyes.

Practicing this simple mindfulness exercise builds mindfulness. Mindfulness helps us to make behavioral changes. Our goal is to focus on present moment. Unfortunately, we tend to live in the past or future in a mindless fashion. Often our state is like a trance. We peak thoughtlessly. Grab cookie without realizing it.

Being aware is first step in changing behavior.

How to Increase Your Chances of Attracting the Perfect Relationship With Karmic Numerology

What would you say if I told you that you can increase your odds of attracting the "perfect" relationship? How great would it be to know that you are dating someone who is so closely a "right" match and that most of the standard relationship challenges no longer existed? And how do your karma, birth date, and life numbers enhance your chances of finding the perfect relationship? READ ON!

Omnia in numeris sita sunt. These Latin words, when translated, reveal to us that "Everything lies veiled in numbers." These words of ancient wisdom let us begin to realize that there is much information hidden in numbers. In ancient times, symbols were used to represent thoughts and objects; today we still use many symbols to communicate, even though today we call them numbers and letters.

We find that a combination of letters and numbers in a natal chart of the original birth name and birth date express hidden sensitivities and personality traits. The term "Gnotholgoy" was a gift from a woman by the name of Eileen Connelly, she was my teacher and has mastered this particular information. These in turn bring to the front a purpose for our existence, along with karmic intent and soul characteristics.

Additionally, we are also at the mercy of our names which we can translate into numbers to further give us a better picture to bring in the best possible relationships, but we will deal with names in a different article.

The use of karmic numerology is similar to a beautiful tree which bears fruit; we are the result of divine planning and possess both positive and negative qualities in our soul blue prints. By creating a chart of these numbers you will be enabling yourself to understand your own life path and the "why" and "where" you are in your journey. Beyond this you will gain concrete knowledge of the "how" to take the next step and even the "when." Through the process of karmic numerology you can better your chances of creating a relationship that will succeed. This is not a new understanding rather a more concrete opportunity, it is through thousands of my clients that validates yet another path of ancient wisdom.

Through the study of numbers specifically related to birth dates we can bring buried traits and talents to the surface to enable us to better use what we have available to us during our present earthly lives. We can more easily gain a better understanding into the depths of our unknown thought processes, our true self, and gain a deeper knowledge of our inner motivations in daily life and in our search for our soul mate or twin flame.

Let me interrupt myself to give just a brief explanation of what the terms "soul mate" and "twin flame" mean. Soul mates are often referred to as individuals which whom we feel a deep connection, as if we have known them before. They think like us and act like us in many ways and in fact you can have zillions of soul mates. There is not just one that is a misnomer. There are six billion people in the Universe and I always say, "For every Mickey there are lots of Minnies" and vice a versa!
Let me further digress by telling you a story that has stayed with me forever with regards to bringing in the perfect relationship. When I was only 16 years old, just a year and a half before my mother's death I sat on the arm chair in our den looking out our very large picture windows. I sat there staring out and watching the cars and buses and people go by one by one. As I seemingly became mesmerized watching the cars go by one by one my mama came up behind me and placed her hand on my shoulders and said, "Honey, you see those buses going by?" I replied, "Yes." And she continued, "Well, they are just like men, there is always another one coming by." At sixteen I am certain it did not register with me how absolutely "perfect" that information was for me and how it would shape my entire life with relationships. As I grew older and began dating, I believed that I would always have a man and that in fact another one would always be coming by when the current one left. Well, being a professional Hypnotist I had been hypnotized into the belief process by that I would always have a man if I wanted one and hence that has always been true! In fact, even when I weighed over 200 pounds I still had more boyfriends then my skinny girlfriends had and I know clearly it was my positive belief process, my Mom had hypnotized me. What beliefs do you have?

Okay, let's focus here. Now, "twin flames" is a completely different energy. Twin flames tend to be people that are similar to the magnets that are polarized opposites and finally someone flips one and they melt together. Your twin flame is only one person, they usually appear as a soul mate yet there is a much deeper and more potent relationship that will develop. It goes beyond saying the same words at the same time and even calling each other to add to the grocery list the same items! Often twin flames have a spirited relationship and tend to have a higher level of energy and it can become so strong that you lose yourself in each other in a negative way. I knew my husband was a soul mate from the beginning and then we realized we were opposites in so many ways but it was not until one sultry intimate night of love making when "flames" literally came out of our finger tips. This is a positive sign! We have to pay attention and be aware of everything or we will miss the signs.

Now, back to the numbers. All of us are affected by the numerical vibrations around us. There are no mistakes when people come to me to facilitate healing and to work on their relationships that there is an underlying numerical answer for what is going on for them. Truly by using the very basics of karmic numerology I can calculate their "year" number and then know exactly why they feel the way they feel at that time. The energy or vibrations or even feelings they are feeling are being forced by the Universe and the "year" they are living numerically. Energy is like a train, one can feel the train approaching the station by the vibrations on the track. We can accurately predict an individuals experience by the same method. Once you are armed with the information of your "year" you can either flounder or flourish. There are no words to explain to you the importance and great benefits to be obtained when we know ourselves so deeply. Each soul has its own personal vibration based on their numbers. The possibilities of healing and growth and creating relationships are endless when you incorporate numbers into your life.

Numerical divination is a vast study, covering all aspects of life and much too involved to cover completely in this article. These aspects provide us with keys for discovering our original intentions and purpose in this life. Personality and potential talents are all kept in the unique karmic design that is ours prior to each individual life experience.

Note that this is just another tool for us to use to answer the many questions we are always searching for answers. This is a spiritually based belief, not religious and by using numbers in a more karmic manner you can open doors that were never opened prior to receiving this knowledge.

Additionally, understand that the mind controls the body and as you open yourself up to more and more information on yourself you also open up your energy channels to bring in what you really want regarding relationships. By simply reading this article you will change your life experience and begin to open up channels that will bring to you what you desire and deserve.

Here are some basics to help you get started with numerology. Everyone knows that numerology is the study of numbers. These numbers are derived by using your name and /or date of birth. The numbers used are added up and reduced to a single digit from the number 1 through 9 with 3 exceptions that affect the individual as they approach their 20's; 11, 22, and 33. Each number holds a significant meaning and can be used to assist you in attracting and achieving a life long loving positive relationship. I strongly believe that with knowledge comes great opportunity. If we do not have tools and guidance then success can elude us. Are you are currently in a relationship and having difficulties then this knowledge can guide you into making better choices and asking better questions about the relationship for enhancement. For instance, if you are dating a person whose number is a "one" and your number is a "one" too then you could butt heads often and this would be a normal encounter. After all, "ones" have a need to be first, make decisions and be the leaders. They need the focus on themselves. It stands to reason then logically and analytically that these persons would have much conflict in their relating abilities.

The karma of "karmic numerology" deals with the essence of "the totality of one's acts in each state of one's existence." *Note here that there is no belief of negative or positives regarding Karma, rather that it just is! This definition comes from my background in Eastern Philosophy from the beliefs of Buddhism and Hinduism.

When we relate the two disciplines we are able to create a science of sort that studies and reveals much about the individual's personality, behavior and relationship traits. It is this knowledge that will allow you to create more profound relationships. If we know that a person is self centered going into the relationship and we too are in need of center stage then you will either deal differently or make a better choice of not being in that relationship.

I believe that we all have a plan when we come in and it is only when we are faced with the belief of lack of choice do we find ourselves without what we need or want. I find that humans are only upset that they made specific agreements and then they are baffled when they are being asked to live by them! Through the process of karmic numerology we will be able to ask better questions and make better choices. The more information you have the greater level of life you can live.

Having your complete chart done by someone that specializes in this type of numerology can be life enhancing. Most people who work with numbers do not use this methodology and so ask a lot of questions if you are going to pay a couple of hundred dollars for an entire chart. An old friend of mine trained in this methodology charges three hundred dollars for a complete 40 page life reading. Well worth it! These pages take you from your birth to your later years, your birth expectations, challenges and much more. Charts are also great to do for children, especially when they are struggling with life choices. The answer to so many life questions lies in our birth information, our numbers!

Let's do your 2007 year predictions...

This will tell you what YEAR you are currently living, not your birth year.

STEP 1: We are currently in the year 2007, when reduced we learn we are in a one year. (No number can be greater than 9 or less than 1)

2 + 0 + 0 + 7 = 27

2 + 7 = 9 hence, 2007 is a 9 year.

STEP 2: Now take the month or your birth and the day of your birth and add them to the 9 of 2007.

Example: My husband's birthday is August 8th....

8 + 8 = 16

1 + 6 = 7

7 + 9 = 16

1 + 6 = 7

Hence, he is in a 7 year and 7 years are filled with questions of the self. Am I doing the "right" thing? Am I in the "right" relationship? Do I trust my own choices?

You try it and have fun with it. The chart below is a very simple overview of what the numbers mean for each corresponding year. See what year you are living and see if it is time to be like a butterfly or time to settle down!

1 = A one year indicates your need to take care of yourself. To finally make yourself number "one;" to take care of you. Those around you may feel that you are being selfish. You might start a diet, get a new hairdo or engage in some other "self" behavior.

2 = A two year is great for couple activities and doing for others. Many people find they have an energy desiring a relationship. It is all about giving so volunteer more!

3 = During three years we find ourselves VERY busy, juggling many different projects or people.

4 = Four years are great for planting seeds for the future and a need to PAY attention to the details. Also putting things in their place, organization is a key theme for the year.

5 = FREEDOM is the key word for you! You will feel like going places and doing things. You really do not want to be tied down to anyone or anything, not the best year for getting married.

6 = Great year for family stuff! In fact during a six year it seems that family needs you more then not. As well as creating stability for marriage and home relationships.

7 = This is a year of learning self love and self trust. You may find yourself working on confidence issues because this is what is needed to move forward.

8 = The 8 year is one of fruition, the seeds which you planted in the 4 year will have grown over the past 4 years and come to reality during this year. Often people find themselves selling properties and making money on the sale. All types of investments come to prosperity during an eight year.

9 = Nine years bring with them a desire to complete projects you had started previously along with finishing all types of things. Such as cleaning out old boxes and closets. Closure and completion are the key words during a nine year.

This will give you a good start on finding out what path you might be on and why you are doing certain things at this time in your life. In fact the Universal energy is so clear for us that we are already on the path we are suppose to be on and it is our responsibility to follow our paths, happy travels!

What's Nokia Doing - Individual Taste in Mass Marketing

Nokia fascinates me. I am one of those consumers that like to find a brand and stick with it. Mostly, I go to mid range products although, where quality really counts, I will go to the top - you just cannot beat a '72 Fender Precision bass. I drive a Toyota station wagon, ride a brand name surf board, use a HP computer and used to ride a Yamaha motor cycle.

Generally, the company behind most of these things doesn't really matter to me. It is only where my passions are raised that I will put in the effort to search out the best I can find. I tried out several bass guitars before we met (my Fender Precision and I) and I have been unswerving ever since. It wasn't the name Fender it was the feel, the balance, the sound and its responsiveness to doing what I wanted it to do.

I can still remember the experience of walking into the music store. Picking up the Fender Precision, plugging it in to an amp and immediately being transported to bass player heaven. That was more than thirty years ago. Some events in life do record at an indestructible soul level.

Stop reading for a moment! Take some time out for your own reflection. Close your eyes and go back to a better time. Think back to an event in your life when the experience touched your soul gently. I guess that sort of experience comes back to the love and passion that the people making the object or event of your affections put into it that bringing the moment to life. I bet you have inanimate objects where your feelings blur from inanimate to intimate. That is probably appreciation of beauty, craftsmanship and care put in by the maker. (When I was five years old I slept with my birthday present - a football!)

As a consumer, I am more driven by reliability, function, quality and service than by fashion, fad or status. For example, I am not caught up in the need to constantly change the ring tone. Although I could download Hotel California, I still use the same default ring tone as Allison Dubois does on the TV series Medium - is that called product placement or bloody annoying?

Because my dream is to work from home for somewhat less than 20 hours per week, I opted for a reliable (sic expensive) desktop computer (to be paid from future - read unforthcoming, income). A laptop or cell phone 'bluetoothed' (as a verb?) to a Desktop PC just doesn't interest me. When I sit at the computer I like to have my desk, a biro, and at least a scribble pad close by, headphones on listening to CSN, and I feel I am' in the zone' with a glass of red and my extensive library around me. What creates you sanctuary, what gets you into your creative zone, music, sound, image, business, making money, giving gifts of assistance to others - what is it that stirs your soul in a peaceful and loving way?

I tend to not carry my music with me because it would somehow distort and cheapen my deep relationship with music. I don't like being interrupted while listening and, rather than jostle with time, crowds and other environment issue, I like the sanctuary of my music. Devices that let you bring your music with you, for me, do not create the same sense of solitude and sanctuary.

When you get to that stage where you have to take your music wherever you go, has your music shifted from an escape to become your prison and does this dependency deteriorate the quality of what you see as sacred music Is something else going on? I think of the people in a train carriage whose distorted music can be heard half a carriage away -have hey become prisoners to noise?

Like Dr Charles Winchester on MASH 4077, has their music somehow twisted back upon them in betrayal? He listened to classical music to take him away from the war, when the war was over however; he knew that listening to his beloved classical music would always remind him of the war. What a terrible fate and savage irony for one's passion. I digress. Am I right about creating sanctuary or is it just that the cost of freedom is so high nowadays we have to take it at any price? Even in a carriage to the discomfort of our fellow journeymen?

In most areas, contemporary product offerings vary little between the major manufacturers. Take cars for instance. Some are so similar as to be indistinguishable at twenty feet. My car fits into the indistinguishable category but the brand has a fierce reputation for the reliability. That is good enough for me.

My relationship to Nokia is different however. It lies somewhere between the first time I laid eyes on my own Fender Precision and first listening to a new CD. I am not quite in love with Nokia but watching what they do is exciting. Following the evolution of Nokia products is, to me, akin to window shopping. I can see what is on offer without denting my credit card and it fascinates me.

In this case however, the window provides a deeper view into the shop that is our global culture. Because Nokia is constantly pushing the technology limits and through its propensity to forge and develop relations with other key players, looking into the Nokia window allows one to see what is happening at a more broad level. For instance, Nokia is pushing the boundaries that allow an individual to select a hand-held device that is optimised for entertainment, music and games and the undeniable practicality of the Internet.

All I am doing in this article, and (hopefully) series of articles - "What's Nokia Doing ?" is sharing thoughts and, like an apprentice craftsman, developing my technique as a writer. My fledgling site nokiamobileonline (please visit it and buy something) is primarily focused on Nokia but, for instance, it will (eventually) include an LG phone that has been set up as a blood monitor test and online monitoring facility. Now I'm not saying to give her a creepy stare for five minutes, just calmly notice her in a direct manner for three to four seconds while she is looking back at you, and the more of a connection you will create.

Touch.

When you meet a woman you need to build bridges in order for her to feel comfort for you so you can eventually get where you want to go.

One of the ways to do this is by touch. An example of this is going from a handshake, to light touch, to holding hands, to caressing her back. So slowly and surely your need to test her limits and see what you can get away with so you can get to the next step. (Note: do this slowly and steadily over time, if she pulls back or is not comfortable, you take a step back and build more comfort by talking more and being interesting and taking more time to get to know her).

Remember each woman is different, but they all want the same thing, someone they can trust, who is a confident and genuine man, and who knows how to handle her. Can you attract a girl? Yes! That is you!

3 Critical Mistakes to Having a Successful Coaching Practice

When I was first considering entering into the coaching profession, I completely got what coaching was all about it, how it could help people, and why people should open up their wallets and pay for it. However, no one else gets that and that is a hard one for coaches to believe. After struggling in my business, despite my mentor's advice I finally got it. People do not buy coaching.

Since I entered into this profession I have morphed into other things, so I am not directly coaching now but I did discover three keys to having a successful coaching practice through experience, following the experts, and trial and error.
 
Mistake #1: Not Having a Niche Market - Niche market is a terrible word for an entrepreneur, but one that comes up over and over again. I was so resistant to narrowing in on a niche market for months; I just kept skating around it hoping I would be the one to be successful without a clearly defined niche. But guess what, it did not happen. Your niche needs to be clear and specific and needs to be a really defined group of people that when you say it they immediately know who they are. And it is okay if others do not quite get it. I work with ConsciousPrenuers, people either come up to me and say "that's me!" or "What's a ConsciousPreneur?" If they have to ask, more than likely they are not in my niche. A niche is not entrepreneurs, business owners, women, men, or moms. A niche is executive women, stay at home moms, retail business owners. When you are too broad you speak to no one. I know, it is hard to digest, but it is the truth.
 
Mistake #2 Not Leveraging Your Time - Coaches get into the habit early on of working one on one with their clients, soon they might have a full calendar of coaching clients, but this is not the best use of your time. When you are working one on one you are trading time for dollars. You cannot leverage your time, re purpose it into something else, or increase your income. You are capped at your hourly rate and unfortunately the average coach is earning about $25,000 a year, so we are talking about $12.50 an hour. Working one to many, doing group programs, tele-seminars, or having a product is a very powerful key to a successful coaching practice.
 
Mistake #3 Selling Coaching - This was a tough one for me, as like I said, I get coaching, I see its value and I think people should pay for it but the general public gets a glazed over look in their eyes when they hear the word coach, some people even as "What do you coach?" referencing a soccer or dance team. While coaching is becoming more and more common, people still do not really understand the value behind it and they do not always know the difference between a coach and counselor; therefore, they start believing that if you need a coach you must have problems. I hear coaches at networking meetings, and this was me too, selling coaching. People hear it, dismiss it, and never think about it again. You have to sell the problems that you solve, not actual coaching. Find out what you solve for your niche market and sell the solution.

Bible Stories - Enoch

Because their hearts were sinful, even those in the Faith line began to get further away from God. They forgot about the animal sacrifices and the promises of the Saviour to come, They began to be more like those in the line of unbelief. They did not like to have Enoch tell them about their sin, bur he did it anyway. He stood up before the people and said to them, "The Lord is going to come some day with 10,000 of His saint with Him. He will judge you and punish you for your sins."

Enoch walked with God when no one else did, As they walked together they must have talked together too. Enoch must have listened for God's still small voice speaking to him, Perhaps the people laughed at Enoch when he would not join them in doing sinful things. Perhaps they got angry with him when he told them that the Lord would come some day to judge them. One day God took him straight to Heaven without dying. The Bible says, "And he was not, for God took him."

I wonder what his friends and neighbours thought when he did not come home one night? I wonder if they looked for him, we do not know. It was a wonderful thing that God could take him right into Heaven without his soul and body being separated as they are in death. Enoch is in Heaven now, because he walked with God when it was not easy to do so.

In the New Testament Hebrews 11:5,6 it tells us that by faith Enoch was taken out of the world so that he would not die as everyone else did. The Bible says, "Enoch walked with God," and it says also that Enoch pleased God.

One cannot walk very well on one foot. It takes two! These two feet tell us what it means to walk by faith as Enoch did. One is marked BELIEVE and the other one is marked OBEY. Because Enoch and God walked together, Enoch must have learned to walk in step with God and listen for His voice. We too, may walk with Him, if we believe His Word and obey it.

Sports-Athletes and What it Takes

Whatever your sport or discipline, you need to train, train, train, to achieve the pinnacle of success. While you may not be an Olympic competitor, giving your all when it comes to training is the only way to go. Of course, if you are going to excel and be a true athlete, you must consider training as a full time career. In many cases, this will mean that you now have two full time careers and this will, at times, no doubt, be both daunting and challenging.

Of course, for many of us, going to the gym three to four times a week to keep fit and healthy is plenty and this is perfectly acceptable. Not everyone who works out and trains has dream of achieving athletic perfection. However, if you are a true athlete, you have understood from the very beginning that committing 150% at all times to a rigorous and punishing training schedule, in and out of the gym is the reality of your life.

Athletic training does not start and end at the gym doors. In fact, sports' training is about working the whole body. This includes the mind, the soul and the body - if one part is off balance, the other parts will soon follow suit.

For the mind

Remember that your mind is very powerful and can send many subconscious messages that may somehow sabotage your training. Work your mind by reciting positive messages and mantras. Talk to yourself and be kind to yourself. Remember that you need to be committed and motivated - set goals and congratulate yourself when you reach them. Focus your mind on positive outcomes.

For the soul

Do kind things for yourself. Write your thoughts and feelings in a journal - Don't' hesitate to vent and express your feelings, concerns and fears. Surround yourself with loving support. Don't hesitate to "dump" the negative or bad forces in your life. Learn to pamper yourself with non destructive things - a good book, a good bath, a nice evening with friends. Meditate and look inwards to find your inner strength and keep your training in perspective. Remember that you are not alone.

For the body

Treat your body well. Don't feed it junk food, caffeine, cigarettes, drugs or alcohol. Eat well - and don't hesitate to eat foods that you enjoy. Remember to drink a lot of water - it will keep you healthy and feeling light. Sleep the number of hours that you need and remember that while you are training you need to be kind to your body - only push your body up to the point where you do not feel pain. Pain IS NEVER good. Keep in deep contact with what your body is saying to you - learn to listen to the body's messages.
